The participants will receive course materials consisting of texts in a variety of genres. By working with both academic and literary texts dealing with various themes, the aim is that the participants will develop their vocabulary and their sense of the nuances of the language.
We have chosen topics that will engage participants, and through discussion and other oral exercises they will get the chance to use the new vocabulary. They will develop writing through studying examples and even compose various types of texts, including formal letters, reports and persuasive texts.
Listening can be a challenge for many, and therefore we place particular emphasis on listening exercises and writing abstracts. In grammar, we concentrate on topics that are often present problems for students at higher levels, for example. word order, proper punctuation and use of various types if statements.
After completing the course participants will have increased knowledge of stylistic nuances and will be able to vary their wording to a greater degree. They will be able to use more complex sentence structures and make fewer grammatical errors, both written and oral. They will improve their ability to write texts in various genres. It will be easier to understand complex verbal speech.
Sessions are held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each session consists of 3 lesson hours for a total of 30 lesson hours. The course is about six weeks long with a total of 10 lessons. Each lesson hour is 45 minutes.
Standard courses are offered during the following hours:
Evening course: 17:00 - 19:15
Course materials are included in the price of the course and are prepared by the teacher according to the students' needs. Course topics and grammar:
Crime, health, upbringing, culture and cultural conflicts, life choices.
Cleft sentences, "Det" statements and inversion, indirect speech, word order in main and subordinate clauses, different types of if phrases, punctuation, compound verbs, use of the verb "to get" in different contexts, prepositions.
At the end of the course, if you completed 80% or more of the sessions and paid the course fee, you will receive an official digital course certificate.
