The course includes individual and group work, discussions, listening exercises, and homework. The course focuses on Chapters 11 to 16 of the book "På Vei" (2012 edition). Participants of this course will complete level A2 based on language levels as described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Sessions are taught in Norwegian from day 1, so no English knowledge is required. This means that using the language is a must from day 1, which leads to a faster progression.
After completing the course, participants will be able to understand frequently used expressions, and extend their vocabulary. They will be able to speak simply about such subjects as school, family structure, holidays, and the workday. It will be easier to read and respond to simple advertisements and discuss topics relating to everyday life. They will be able to hold conversations and talk about people, places, and things using slightly more advanced sentences relative to time and place.
Sessions are held twice a week on mondays and wednesdays, tuesdays and thursdays, or fridays and saturdays. Each session consists of 3 lesson hours for a total of 36 lesson hours. The course is about six weeks long with a total of 12 lessons. Each lesson hour is 45 minutes.
