Alfa Skolens grammar courses are divided into two parts. They are provided on Fridays and may therefore easily be combined with a standard course. Each part consists of 7 sessions with 3 lesson hours per session (one lesson hour = 45 min). In total this constitutes 42 hours of teaching (during 14 sessions) if you attend both courses. It is possible to sign up for just one of the two parts (either 1 or 2), or both courses at the same time. These courses cover the book "Norsk grammatikk: norsk som andrespråk" (Kirsti Mac Donald). The books are not included in the price of the course, but can be purchased at our school or in a book-store
These courses are intended for people who already speak Norwegian, and who manage Norwegian at a level that corresponds at least with the books Stein på stein. The courses are intended especially for people who use Norwegian every day, for example at work or in their studies. If you wish to improve your knowledge of Norwegian Syntax and writing skills, these are the courses for you! The courses include a repetition of the grammar you have learned in earlier courses, as well as a deeper understanding of the grammar. The goal of this course is to improve the grammar and learn more about the Norwegian grammar, it is not a course for people wanting to expand their Norwegian vocabulary.
The teaching consists of theory and exercises. We will not work with texts in these courses. Our grammar courses are challenging, and the students need to do a lot of homework in order to get enough out of the classes. Because each of these courses consists of only 7 sessions you have to read a lot by yourself and show up well prepared for each class.
